To give young flutists the possibility to socialize, bond, share their experience, exchange their knowledge and learn through festival, workshops, presentations, exhibitions and concerts.
As a part of the 5th International Young Flutists Platform, a Festival for Young Flutists
will take place at the Koper Music School on 24th and 25th November 2018.
CATEGORYS / PROGRAMME
SOLOISTS 1st category: up to 12 years of age (born in 2006 and later)
compositions of own choice but of different character,
up to 5 minutes of programme;
2nd category: 13 to 15 years of age (born between 2005 and 2003)
compositions of own choice, of different character and from different music period,
up to 7 minutes of programme;
3rd category: 16 to 18 years of age (born between 2002 and 2000)
compositions of own choice, of different character and from different music period,
up to 10 minutes of programme;
4th category: 19 to 21 years of age (born between 1999 and 1997)
compositions of own choice, of different character and from different music period,
up to 12 minutes of programme;
5th category: 22 to 25 years of age (born between 1996 and 1993)
compositions of own choice, of different character and from different music period,
up to 15 minutes of programme.
CHAMBER GROUP WITH FLUTE
1st category: the average age of a group member: up to 14 years
compositions of own choice, of different character and from different music period,
up to 10 minutes of programme;
2nd category: the average age of a group member: up to 18 years
compositions of own choice, of different character and from different music period,
up to 15 minutes of programme;
3rd category: the average age of a group member: up to 25 years
compositions of own choice, of different character and from different music period,
up to 20 minutes of programme.
Participants must provide four copies of piano scores /chamber music score (there will be no copying facilities at the Music School). The copies of piano scores (well ordinate and stitched) should be given at the registration to the secretary of the festival, before the festival starts.
Participants have to arrange for the piano accompanists on their own or they can request for the pianist at the festival (this should be marked in the application form). In this case, it is necessary to send a photocopy of piano scores together with the application form and with registration payment you need to pay also the piano accompagnist.
- the festival is international,
- younger candidates are allowed to play in the higher category,
- for the festival programme only original music scores can be used,
- a chamber group with flute is considered as a group, in which flute is the main instrument (duo, trio, quartet, etc. in combination with other instruments),
- in case of withdrawal from the festival, the application fee won´t be refunded,
- before the festival, participants must show a valid ID to the secretary of the festival,
- before the festival, participants should give four copies of piano scores /chamber music score (well ordinate and stitched) to the secretary of the festival,
- after the deadline the order list of participants will be determined by drawing the letter of surname,
- the jury will deliver a written opinion to each festival participant / chamber group, - at the evening gala concerts all participants will receive a jury´s opinion and a certificate of attendance,
- the organizer of the festival has the right to record (audio, video) the festival, the participants accept to give up their rights of fee and authorship, and agree with the public nature of the festival and broadcasting the festival recordings.
To receive an attestation of participation to the 5th International Young Flutists Platform FlavtIstra 2018, the participants must attend the workshops, presentations and concerts organized for them.
